VOTE Trish

HCDSB School Trustee 2022

Burlington Wards 3&6

Welcome to my website.  That's me, Trish Nicholls-Powell, surrounded by all those boys! I'm a mom to four sons, ages 15 to 25. And I'm married to a very patient man, Chris Powell.

We moved to Burlington from Oakville in 2004 and have lived in Ward 6 ever since.  We've been an active part of our community since then, including owning and operating our businesses here.  I've been involved in my children's schools, beginning when they attended elementary school at St. Gabriel's, and I continue to be involved at the high school level, most recently as Chair of Catholic School Council at Corpus Christi.

I am running for the role of HCDSB Trustee in Wards 3 & 6 in and I want your vote on Oct. 24th.

“It is not enough to say we are Christians.
We must live the faith, not only with our words, but with our actions.”

"Trish is a well respected and involved parent. Having both taught two of her kids and worked with Trish on co-curricular projects, I have always applauded her ability to collaborate through varied lenses, be it as a parent, or council member. Trish understands how to be subjective, professional, and will bring multiple perspectives to the table as a trustee. I am very confident that she would be an excellent voice and member of our board.”

"I had the pleasure of working closely with Trish when I was Principal of St. Gabriel Catholic School in Burlington.  Trish always had the best interests of all students in her decision making.  Her energy and passion for Catholic education was evident in every interaction she had with students, parents and staff.
Trish Nicholls Powell will make an excellent Catholic School Board Trustee – she gets it and that is what we need!”

"Trish and I worked together as Parent Council Co Chairs at Corpus Christi Hight School.  It was an unusual year due to the pandemic however Trish’s leadership and dedication bringing support to the parent community was incredible.  Because of her, I felt comfortable and inspired to join her on the Council.  I am always amazed how she is able to bring her insights, empathy and knowledge to many situations and especially in support of parents and students.  She has a perspective and experience that will always consider our Catholic values and the challenges faced by our children.  Trish has continued to not only be a fellow parent in our school community but has become my friend.  She is a special person and shares her passion and dedication in all that she does"
